This week my sister-in-law gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. He's called Berend. This is very Dutch. We all call him Beer, which (as you probably already guessed) means bear in English. Isn't that cute!
As a theme for his room my sister-in-law chose stars. When we left The Netherlands she was 4 months pregnant and I had already made her a baby wrapper in grey and white with little stars.
I deliberately saved some of the fabric for later, which I used to make him this little overall.
Using the scraps of the baby wrapper, I had to mix and match a little bit to have enough fabric to work with.
However, I think it worked out just nice in the end. It creates a playful look.
For the overall I used simplicity pattern 5316. For the little head I used the lovely tutorial by Mira over at Sewing, The Little Heart Collection.
We are very excited to have a little nephew now. During Christmas my sister-in-law and her family will visit us. I can't wait to see Marie and Beer together! I'll make sure I have some matching summer clothes ready for them by then. It will look so adorable.....
Adorable outfit. I'm pinning this! I am now inspired to make something cute for my nephew!

Thank you T'onna!
DeleteHave fun creating something for your nephew!
Friends always tell me I'm lucky to have a daughter because it's easier to sew things for her. However it's nice to make something boyish once in a while as well, don't you agree?
